Class bio: Our leather history: The Gift and “Coming Out” of a New Social Culture
Master Trent and slave kelly
Approximately 70 years ago a “new social culture” came out of the closet and began to transform what we now recognize as our leather, kink and BDSM community. There has been a generational evolution that continues to rethink and reshape what we do. This history and the new social culture have been a gift to us, and it is up to all us to be the curators of that gift and assimilators of the history, knowledge and wisdom, so we can continue to pass it forward.
Master Trent and slave kelly will provide an overview of the roots, coming out and evolution of the significant historical events from the 1940’s to the early part of the 2000’s that have shaped our community. Understanding this part of our history helps to understand the journey that got us where we are today as we all work to shape the future and pass the gift of leather, kink and BDSM to the next generation.
