Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods

Class Bio: Consent Based Bootblacking

Welcome to our Consent-Based Bootblacking Class. This engaging and educational class is
designed to introduce participants to the art of bootblacking while emphasizing consent,
communication, and a safe, enjoyable experience for all involved.
Bootblacking is a cherished tradition within the Leather Community, where individuals engage in
the practice of caring for and shining boots and other leather goods. In this workshop, we’ll
explore the techniques, tools, and principles of bootblacking in a consent-focused environment.
By the end of this workshop, participants will have a solid foundation in the art of bootblacking,
incorporating consent and communication into their practice. Whether you’re a newcomer to
bootblacking or seeking to enhance your skills, this workshop is a safe and welcoming space to
learn, grow, and connect. Join us for an enriching experience that combines tradition, respect,
and creativity.
